Autonomous Emergency Braking is Unaffected by New Vision Driving Lights

Modern vehicles are becoming safer and safer as technology advances. Safety belts and airbags are popular ways of protecting occupants in an accident.

Electronic stability control and (AEB) are almost non-existent on most vehicles. AEB applies the brakes to avoid a collision at speeds up to 60 km/h.

It has become standard for all new cars to have this safety feature. It helps prevent accidents by slowing down or stopping the car when the driver fails to react in time.

A new study by ANCAP indicates that electronic stability systems are now in 31% of new vehicles in two years.

AEB is a system that alerts drivers of upcoming changes in speed or direction. It does this by using radar and sensors like cameras and GPS satellites.

To maintain the safety of its drivers, some vehicles today use radar and camera sensors. It detect obstacles in front of them and avoid accidents. It uses the brakes and throttle to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front.

It is clear that this technology has the potential to save lives despite some challenges. Our products are designed to fit vehicles without obstructing these vital sensing systems.

A Toyota Prado recently received driving lights from a store manager, Darren Boyd.

According to Boyd, the client requested specific driving lights for his fleet. Because the vehicles have factory steel bull-bars.  The client returned the vehicle. As adaptive cruise control seems to be defective after we delivered them.

Our team examined the cars and found that the lights blocked the radar behind the grille. So we replaced them with New Vision’s LEDs.

“Despite their small size, the Driving Light provides the lighting performance the client needs.”

Boyd advises anyone considering fitting accessories to the front of a vehicle. He advised ensuring they will not interfere with all the intended safety systems. Cars are becoming smaller, so there is less space for accessories.

The Outback has a bull-bar instead of a grill. This means that there is a lot more space between the grille and the light mounts.

We can put more lights on the front of the car. Since LEDs are small, they pose a lower risk of interfering with advanced safety systems.

Extra mounting points are also included for accessories such as winches, UHF antennas. These are not found on factory bars. Factory products tend to be more expensive, as well.”
