Difference Between Curved Light Bars and Straight Light Bars
You need to see different things when considering buying new light bars. Some aspects are:

It is obvious that a light bar is not just a light bar. The article deals with the difference between curved and straight light bars.
Some compatibles, if you notice are more or less the same. The length, as well as Lumens (the light output), is also the same. Even mounting brackets used by both lights are the same. So where comes the exact difference?
Mainly, it is about:
- The appearance of the light during mounting

The beam pattern :
In the case of a straight light bar, there are either:
- Flood
- Spot
- Combination
It simply means directing the light bar in a straight direction. When a beam pattern is used, the concentration of the light bar is narrow. It is more focused on one point and, thus lightens the area more.
The flood light, on the other hand, is going to be opposite to the spotlight. The light is more dispersed in that case. It let you see a wider side of the area rather than concentrating on a smaller area.

When the light is curved, one is able to view the light combination pattern. The dispersion of light is even wider this way. You will be able to see the wider pattern with curved light. Thus, more area is illuminated.
The Mounting Pattern
Yet another difference is it is mounting. How the light is seen when it is installed on the vehicle. The curved light offers better fitting in the curves of vehicles. The curve of the bumper is able to take the light in easily.
Thus, easily matching it. This is even helpful when you want the light to mount in a low position.
In case of high mounting, the matching will be with a windshield. In the case of a square vehicle, the straight light will work best. The shine of the straight light will be good this way.
The vehicle which is boxier carries straight lights better. Because there are not many curves in those vehicles. Thus the straight lights look perfect and show maximum shine.
