The Key To Effective Lighting Is Evenness
For effective lighting, the key is evenness. Eyes are mainly tired due to the unevenness and glaring of the lights.
For the elderly, these issues of glaring and unevenness matter a lot. With age, the eyes deteriorate and vision bleak. It becomes difficult to differentiate between dark and light beams.
The Factors For Designing Lighting For A Machine
In the domain of construction, there are some other factors as well that need to be noticed.
For instance, it is about glare from cylinders, hydraulics, arms, and buckets of the machine.
While planning for the design of the machine, all these variables should be considered.
Besides design, the environment where the machine also operates matters. During snow, fog, or summer, the wavelength of the light has to be longer.
Also, the color of the light has to be a little warmer for better projection and penetration.
This process is called color temperature. The measurement unit for this is “K”.
The Kevin(K) for LED Work Light
As already discussed, the level of penetration for light is measured in terms of K.
K is Kelvin, a unit for checking the temperature of the light beam. The temperature range of many LED light fall between the range of 6000k to 6500k. Some other lights also have a range below 3000k.
The standard temperature range of the light is mainly 5700k. In case the temperature is low, the color of the light becomes blue.
Mainly the halogen light is around 3200k and the sunny day is around 5700k.
The color of the light also varies based on the nature of the tasks. For mining operations and tunneling, the color of the light should be green. The contouring of the rock is better and visible in the presence of green color than white color.
The Colour Rendering Index(CRI)
The Colour rendering index is used to note the quality of the color for some cases. Sometimes for clearer vision, while the machine operates, the CRI is identified. Mainly 90% and above CRI means the object is in close proximity. The level of proximity is seen in context to the vision in sunlight.
The CRI for LED lights is between 70 to 75 percent. In this range, the clarity of the vision remains a blur. Also, the original color of the material is hidden in this range.
The Challenge That The Machine Will Be Operating In
Yet another issue besides construction is the environment in which the machine operates.
The environment could vary from working in isolation to working with a lot of people. The problem can further go wrong with the power of the light used.
The same intensity of light that you use in isolation can not be used in the case of people around. It can impact the working and disturb people as well.
How To Fix The Challenge For The Machine Facing
You have to adjust the lighting of the machine in line with the environment it operates. It requires changes in the color temperature of dimming the light.
The change is as per the requirements of the users. The reflected changes can be done in the main profile settings.
