What Is The The Differences LED, Halogen and Xenon Work Light
Work Lights had hit the market in the recent past. The halogen lamps set the standard feature when the work lights were introduced. But things have changed a lot since then. The change began with the introduction of HID or Xenon lights.
Then again, Xenon light’s place has been replaced by LEDs, which is the new technology. It has now taken the market by storm and secured the place as standard lighting. However, it’s not surprising because these work lights have many advantages compared to xenon and halogen.
The Comparison Chart
Halogen
- The halogen bulb produces current by sending it through a filament.
- However, heat consumes around 90% of its energy.
- 500 hours of lifetime.
Xenon
- Xenon is also known as HID (High-Intensity Discharge). Light is provided through this element.
- Once you switch this on, the light requires a ‘warm-up time.’
- 5000 hours of lifetime.
LED
- LEDs are energy-efficient small bulbs.
- They are vibrations and shock-resistant.
- LEDs produce even light images.
- 50,000 hours of lifetime.
Color Temperature
Every light type has a certain color temperature. This is mentioned in Kelvin and shows the light’s ‘color.’ This goes from white to blue and red to yellow.
When the color temperature is high, the light gets bluer. When the color temperature is low, it’s considered warm light, and when the temperature is high, it’s regarded as cold light.
As warm light is for a homely and cozy environment, it’s best-suited for living rooms. But for situations that don’t turn out as homely or cozy, rather considered dark areas might work well with a high color temperature.
The diagram above shows things in detail. LED light’s color temperature is as same as daylight value. As we are accustomed to daylight, the color temperature of LEDs doesn’t create fatigue.
But it’s not the case with Xenon or Halogen lighting, and their color temperature doesn’t come close to daylight value.
It sums up that LED lighting is great for your eyes as it doesn’t create fatigue. Also, compared to Halogen or Xenon, LEDs are less tiring, so you can continue working even if it’s prolonged dark hours.
